The Lemur

A most strange creature is the Lemur.
He has large eyes so he can see more.
Lives in the jungle in Madagascar.
If chased, he can run still faster.

These diminutive mammals are our kin.
Survived when dinosaurs were done in.
Not because they were bigger or stronger,
Cause they were small enough to live longer.

So plotting the history of our species,
Talk not of great apes or of chimpanzees.
Tiny Lemurs hid out while apes threw feces.
Our Ancestors survived up in the trees.
