Toad Hall Retaken
With the help of the good natured Rat, the faithful Mole, and the sturdy Badger, Toad Hall was retaken in 2006 from the stoats and weasels who had seized and occupied it. No one knows why it took so long for the humble dwellers along the Riverbank and in the Wildwood to figure out that this needed to be done. Thank goodness they eventually got it.
Anyone who thought that a change in majority parties would bring a modicum of dignity, intelligence, and character back to the environs of Congress (where it has been so sadly lacking for a number of years) was dreaming. It is also clear that the well-intentioned creatures who occupy the hallowed halls cannot restrain the irrepressible Toad from his wild adventures, nor extricate us from the mess that he has gotten the nation into.
