The Smell of Freedom

Occupy Wall Street protestor zombies    Occupy Wall Street protestors being arrested

Recent developments seem to be signals of a sea change in our country. The Occupy Wall Street phenomenon is the latest of these indicators.   It spread rapidly throughout the nation, and has all the earmarks of a grass roots movement that has yet to be hijacked by the power elite.   The participants appear dedicated to nonviolence mixed with some mild forms of civil disobedience to get media coverage.   All this, while encouraging, is only a start.   The danger with any revolution is not that it will fail, but that it will succeed in replacing the current structure with one that is worse.   Only time will tell how this one will play out, but the smell of freedom in the air is irresistible.   The 'Arab Spring' may yet be followed by a USA Autumn.   Autumn is a wonderful time of year.

William's Whimsical Words:

Freedom smells delicious; oligarchy just smells.
